"History does not entrust the care of freedom to the weak or timid."

Dwight D. Eisenhower

'No arsenal, no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.'

Final Farewell to Matt Emerson
"What is a Hero?"

My heroes are the young men who faced the issues of war and possible death, and then weighed those concerns against obligations to their country. Citizen-soliders, who interrupted their personal and professional lives at their most formative stage.
A Veteran - Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who at one point in his/her life wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor. There are far too many people in this country who don't understand it.
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children through the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.
"The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the Veterans of earlier wars were Treated and Appreciated by their Nation."

"If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

Ronald Reagan

I fear not,  I see no reason for fear.
In the end we will be the victors. For though at times the flame of liberty may cease to shine, the ember will never expire.

Thomas Payne

An outstanding new children's book has been written by Shannon Maxwell, a Marine wife who has been through the challenges of a severly wounded husband, and how as a family they are working through those challenges. This is a 'must read' for families of a wounded warrior. If you know someone whose children could benefit from this book, please consider buying one and getting it into their hands. Click here

WASHINGTON
        OPERATION THANK YOU
Our Mission:
To ensure that all military personnel and their families, past and present, are treated with the utmost respect, and to enlighten our community as to the needs of our military and their dependents.
For those that deny themselves the comfort and security of their homes to protect our freedom,
We are forever in your debt.

What do we mean by Patriotism in the context of our times? We venture to suggest that what we mean is a sense of National responsibility ... a Patriotism which is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime!!
